Originally named Ruth's Barge, this mysterious shipwreck lay hidden for decades until archived documents and a detailed site plan helped uncover its true identity. Join us at the Woodbridge Main Library, October 16 at 7PM for a fascinating presentation that dives into the barge’s history, its surprising discoveries, and the process behind its identification. Learn how local researchers used historical records, maps, and maritime clues to piece together the vessel’s story. This program offers a unique glimpse into our region’s nautical past and the detective work that brings history to the surface.

Daniel Lieb has spent over 30 years leading and participating in archaeological expeditions throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region, with a focus on mapping and identifying shipwrecks. His deep passion for local maritime history has made him a leading figure in uncovering the stories behind wrecks in New Jersey waters. A certified PADI Divemaster, Daniel has logged more than 2,300 dives since 1974. His expertise both above and below the surface brings history to life in remarkable ways.
