Meet the local piping plovers of the New Jersey Shore! Learn about the history of Sandy Hook and the National Parks Service, and their important role in protection and development of the Jersey Shore. Discover the importance of uniting stewardship efforts and knowledge to address the challenges of shorebird conservation along New Jersey's coastline. Gateway NRA's Volunteer shorebird ambassador program is actively seeking and recruiting volunteers who are committed to conservation, education, and community engagement. Join us May 20 at 7PM at the Woodbridge Main Library for a presentation that will teach us how to share the shore and make the beach more welcoming for shorebirds and other types of coastal animals.
This presentation will be given by a member of the National Parks Service.
