Join Us for the Annual Summer Reading Challenge!


The Woodbridge Public Library is excited to announce the return of our annual Summer Reading Challenge! We are inviting kids, teens, and adults to explore the joy of reading while participating in a variety of events! Participants  can choose the books they want to read and be rewarded for their efforts!


Children's Programs


Kick off the start of summer reading with the Joe Fischer's Magic Show. The show will take place throughout the week at each location!


Children will also be able to participate in various crafts, storytimes, and educational programs designed to spark their imagination throughout the summer at all of our locations. For a complete list of children’s events, visit HERE.


Kids have the chance to win prizes such as–T-shirts, autographed books, and more! Register for the children's summer reading challenge HERE or stop by any location to join and get a game board!


Teen Activities


Teens can look forward to an array of crafting events that encourage creativity and allows them the chance to explore new hobbies!


The Teen Summer Reading challenge is completely online. Participants have the chance to win different themed prize baskets such as– Movie Night, Instax, Coffee Please, and In You Vinyl Era.

Adult Events


Adults are invited to join us for a summer of fun and engaging events! Most of these presentations are open to ALL ages! Below you will find information about some of our upcoming events! You can find more information about our programs HERE!


June 18, 2PM - New Jersey Shipwrecks 

Daniel Lieb, president of the New Jersey Historical Divers Association, Inc., presents a fascinating look at 300 years of shipwrecks in New Jersey waters, including both World Wars.


June 28, 2PM - Afternoon Piano Concert: The American Songbook Sing-Along  

Enjoy a musical afternoon with pianist Laurie Goldman, featuring beloved songs from the 1920s through the 1950s.


July 9, 7PM - The History and Mystery of Tarot

Explore the history and symbolism of the tarot deck in this introductory class.


July 16, 7PM - You Are Here: A New Jersey Travel Guide 

Kerri Sullivan, editor of "New Jersey Fan Club," showcases interesting sites around the state with stunning photography and fun facts.


August 21, 7PM - Detox Your Mind through Meditation

Jim Rose teaches a powerful meditation technique to help clear your mind.


Also, do not miss out on the Movies at the Library!

Fridays at 2PM at the Main Library and select Saturdays (June 29, July 27, August 24) at 1PM at the Iselin Branch Library. 


Be sure to check our calendar for more craft programs, lectures, and activities throughout the summer!


Adults are welcomed to sign up for the reading challenge online or in-person at one of our locations! You will have the chance to win a weekly prize and then be entered into a grand prize drawing where you could win a prize package which includes–a voucher to whale watch or go on a sunset cruise on the Miss Belmar, binoculars, and gift cards to chipotle, applebee’s, and more!
