Effective Tuesday, September 5, Woodbridge Public Library (WPL) will begin renewing patron materials automatically. Patrons will no longer need to access their accounts online or call the library to renew their materials, with some exceptions.
Materials not eligible for automatic renewal are:
- School summer reading or reserve materials
- Wi-Fi hotspots
- Museum passes
- QuikRead books
- Inter-library loans (ILL)
- Materials for which holds have been placed by other patrons
All eligible patron materials will renew automatically the day of their due date so that loans will give library users the maximum loan period.
When materials are automatically renewed, patrons will receive a notice via email only. They will also receive a notice if items on their accounts are not eligible to renew so they will know to return them to the nearest library branch.
“We are proud to serve Woodbridge Township library patrons with this important update to loans. We have seen automatic renewal work well in other communities to improve the convenience of services,” said Library Director Monica Eppinger.
