Bomba, a Puerto Rican musical genre, emerged from the labor of West African enslaved individuals and their descendants over 400 years ago on colonial plantations. Today, it embodies the island's profound African heritage, resonating as cherished folk music.

Watch members of the academy demonstrate remarkable Bomba skills, guided by instructors Nelson Baez, a drumming master, and Magda Baez, a dance virtuoso, both brimming with passion for Puerto Rico's rich history.

Everyone, regardless of their background, are invited to partake in this cultural experience and embrace the beauty of Bomba.
