Mayor John E. McCormac Launches Mobile Health Services Vehicle Mobile Unit Geared to Provide On-Site Medical Services to Township Communities and Neighborhoods

Woodbridge Township - Mayor John E. McCormac and the Woodbridge Department of Health & Human Services launched a new State-of-the-Art Full Service Mobile Health Services vehicle designed and equipped with the latest healthcare technologies that will offer medical and healthcare services to residents in every Township community and neighborhood. "We are extremely excited to announce that the Woodbridge Township Health Department’s Mobile Health Services Unit will routinely visit Township Senior Centers, Senior Residential Housing Communities and vulnerable populations that are medically underserved offering FREE health care services to patients who experience barriers to care in traditional health care settings.  And, even more importantly, the $300,000 Mobile Health Services Unit is without cost to our taxpayers courtesy of a philanthropic benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous,” said Mayor McCormac.

The climate controlled, 27-foot Ford E450 medical unit is equipped with two examination areas that are able to serve patients in a general medicine and nursing capacity. In addition to the clinical spaces, the medical vehicle is equipped with handicap access and an outdoor awning for complete service.

Woodbridge Health Department healthcare professionals and nurses will staff the Mobile Health Services Unit providing wellness services to include adult cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, height, BMI screening, glucose testing and preventative and health care educational services.

The Mobile Health Services Unit has already visited several of the Township’s Senior Centers and will “hit-the-road” on an aggressive schedule visiting Senior Centers, Senior housing communities and neighborhoods, Township Community Centers and facilities, along with stops at the Mayor’s Summer concerts, the downtown Saturday Farmers’ Market at Parker Press Park and many other community events, festivals and street fairs.
