The Mayor’s Summer Concert Series returns to the Country Sunday stage at Parker Press Park on Sunday (August 5) with Christian Lopez.  Jay Siegel & The Tokens revive their Golden Oldies favorites on Monday (August 6) and Broken Arrow (Neil Young Tribute) rocks the Tribute Tuesday stage on Tuesday (August 7)... both concerts LIVE on-stage at 7:30 PM on the grass field behind Woodbridge High School.  Woodbridge Wednesday presents M. Shanghai and Incendio (August 8) at 7:30 PM on the Parker Press stage and Local Band Thursday returns with Smoke & Mirrors on Thursday (August 9) at Tanzman Park (across from the Downtown Woodbridge Train Station) at 7:30 PM.  Friday Jazz returns to the concert stage at Mayor Frank Pelzman Park in Avenel with the jazz sounds of Mike Stern (August 10).  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the FREE concerts with family and  friends!  The cost of admission to a Mayor’s Summer Concert is a can, or two, or three of non-perishable food for the We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank.  Check out the full Mayor’s Summer concert line-up on the Township Web Page at: www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us.

Civil War Living History Comes Alive on Sat., Aug. 4

Experience the Civil War with the Robert E. Lee Civil War Roundtable of Central New Jersey as history comes to life on Saturday (August 4) when the Civil War Library & Research Center (94 Green Street) is transformed into a  Civil War encampment. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Civil War Calvary Camp and meet the soldiers of the 7th Regiment Virginia Calvary, Company A.  Watch kids ‘drill’ with the soldiers.  Experience civilian life as it was in 1864.  Explore Civil War history displays and learn from living historians portraying notable Civil War personalities. Civil War books and other period goods on sale at the Civil War Library.  Admission is free to this unforgettable trip back in time.  Camp Open: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  

The Woodbridge Farmers’ Market is OPEN every Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 to 8:30 PM at Parker Press Park.  The WB Farmers’ Market has expanded with a brand-new “Jersey Fresh” farmer and specialty food vendors.  Melick’s Town Farm Market offers straight-from-the-field produce, vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants and organic specialties.  Market vendors include: J.J.
