Have-A-Heart” Food Drive Challenge Continues:  Last Week to Donate!!!

Have A Heart 2017 Kick Off

It's almost over!!! But the Woodbridge Township food pantries still need our help!!!  That’s why we’re issuing the “Have-A-Heart” Food Drive Challenge seeking donations of 214 pounds of food or $214 to assist our food pantries continue their work providing food and meals to residents and neighbors in need of a little help.

The “Have-A-Heart” Food Drive is coordinated by Peter Barcellona, Chairman, of the “We Feed Woodbridge” Food Bank Committee.  All you need to do is give Peter a call at 732-855-0600 x5034 and tell him where and when to pick up a donation – 214 pounds of food or $214 - and our volunteers will come directly to your location… it’s that easy!  Or, you can deliver 214 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Woodbridge Township Public Health Center (2 George Frederick Plaza) or the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC) anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday - Friday.  Financial contributions (payable to “We Feed Woodbridge”) can also be dropped-off at the Health Center or mailed directly to the Woodbridge Department of Health & Human Services, c/o We Feed Woodbridge, 2 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.  

Don’t delay!!!  We need your help now!  The cupboards are nearly bare!  I know we can count on our Township businesses and businesspersons to lend a hand.  Please give us a call today at 732-855-0600 x5034.  You’ll be glad you did!!!

The 10th Annual Woodbridge Township Charity Chili Cook-off “heats-up” on Sun., March 5, 2017 at JJ Bitting Brewing Co., 33 Main Street, in Downtown Woodbridge from Noon - 2:00 P.M. Think your chili recipe is the best in Woodbridge? Enter your chili in the cook-off for an afternoon of fun, friendly competition and the chance to win a cash prize! Applications can be picked up at JJ Bitting Brewing Co., Woodbridge Community Center and Town Hall. Don't have a chili recipe? No problem! Come spend the afternoon sampling the best chili and local brew Woodbridge has to offer! Barron Arts Center Presents: Exploring the Tarot: Hooked Rug Exhibit


The Barron Arts Center (582 Rahway Ave.) is hosting “Exploring the Tarot: 23 Artists Hook the Major Arcana: Hooked Rug Exhibit” through February 26.  Curated by artists Loretta Scena and Michele Micarelli, “Exploring the Tarot” is a collection of 23 hand-hooked rugs created by renowned fiber artists depicting the Major Arcana of a tarot deck.  Gallery hours: Mon.-Fri. 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Sat. & Sun. 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

The 44th Annual Woodbridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Celebration gets underway on Sun., March 12, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. with the presentation of Proclamations to the St. Patrick’s Day honorees at the Theatre at Woodbridge Middle School followed by the raising of the Irish Flag at Woodbridge Town Hall (1 Main Street). The St. Patrick’s Day Parade - sponsored by the American Irish Association of Woodbridge – steps-off at 1:30 PM from Woodbridge High School, moves to Freeman Street, onto Linden Avenue, to Amboy Ave. (Route 35) to Main Street, concluding in front of Town Hall.  Enjoy more than 80 marching units, including traditional Irish Pipe Bands and Step Dancers, Irish-themed parade floats and displays, marching bands representing all three Woodbridge Township high schools, representatives from Township fire departments, first aid and emergency response squads, members of Woodbridge scouting organizations and community, civic, sports, and neighborhood associations.

The annual Spring Clean-Up & Bulk Waste curbside collection program is now easier and more convenient than ever - instead of the complicated curbside pick-up schedule that ran from April through June, we’re now offering every residential household a ONE-TIME PER YEAR FREE BULK WASTE PICK-UP.  The revised bulk waste collection program is more convenient for resident homeowners and allows the Department of Public Works to better manage bulk waste collection.  All you need to do is call the Department of Public Works Sanitation Office at: 732-738-1311 x3600 – the staff will provide the details about the ONE-TIME PER YEAR FREE BULK WASTE PICK-UP and get you on the schedule.
