COVID is still active in Woodbridge, wear a mask & social distance.

This is Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac and today is Friday, January 21.

The bad news is that Woodbridge had our fourth worst week of new COVID cases from the general public last week with 705, but the good news is that the prior three weeks were the worst three so we are definitely seeing improvement. We had 788 at the end of December and then 2,698 and 1,631 the first two weeks of January, so this week was less than half of the prior week. We are definitely trending downward.

There were an additional 55 in State facilities and another in a health care facility.
The really bad news though is that we had nine deaths in January so far – females aged 62 and 70 and males aged 38, three at 64, 68, 86 and 94. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

We have a vaccination clinic for ages 5-11 on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and for 12 and up the next two Thursdays from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Please call 732-855-0600 extension 5004 for an appointment.

Information regarding testing sites and all updates on State directives can be found on our web site and social media pages.

So, I am sorry to report that Little Red Riding Hood was in a bad accident yesterday. I called the hospital to check on her status and they said, “Well she is not out of the woods yet!!!”

Thank you. Stay safe and have a great weekend.
