Auxiliary Police Officer is assigned to the Officer of Emergency Management , an Auxiliary Police Officer is a uniformed position that functions in support of the Woodbridge Township Police Department , some of the primary duties of an Auxiliary Police Officer include ; providing traffic control , providing crowd control and assisting at Township events . Auxiliary Police Officer is a voluntary position , one must be an Auxiliary Police Officer before being considered for a Special Police Officer position.
Requirements of becoming an Auxiliary Police Officer include; U.S. Citizen, 18 years of age or older, High School diploma or G.E.D., valid New Jersey Driver’s License, approved background check, resident of Woodbridge Township and, must be in good physical condition and able to attend and graduate from the Middlesex County Auxiliary Police Academy.
