WHAT: "Y-Splash" . . . FREE week of swimming lessons to children in Woodbridge Township
WHEN: Monday, June
21 - Friday, June 25 from 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Ages 6 to 8 years - 4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Ages 9 to 12 years - 4:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Bow Tie Pool, Port Reading; Highland Grove Pool, Fords; Woodbridge Community Center
WHY: Township and YMCA partnering to provide a special program teaching kids and families to be safer in and around water
From June 21 through June 25, the Woodbridge YMCA is sponsoring a free week of swimming lessons to Woodbridge Township children ages 6-12. Registration is required; call the YMCA at 732-596-4170.
The Y-Splash Course teaches water safety, swimming skills, rescue skills and character development and is occurring at the Township's Bow Tie Pool, Port Reading; Highland Grove Pool, Fords; Woodbridge Community Center, 600 Main Street in Woodbridge.
"The YMCA's motto is 'We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities'," says Mayor Frank G. Pelzman. "In Woodbridge we take that motto very seriously. The Y-Splash course is an excellent example of the YMCA and the Township working together to enhance safety education opportunities for Woodbridge residents."
