Mayor cites impact on grass-roots groups impacting thousands
Wal-Mart Foundation in conjunction with its Woodbridge store has given grants totaling $7,000 to seven local municipal and community groups, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.
The Township’s Police Department, Library, Domestic Violence Response Team, Buddy Ball and Division on Aging received grants along with Hopelawn Fire Department and Woodbridge Animal Group.
“Wal-Mart believes that to work in the community, you need to give to the community,” says Bilmarie Broco , Woodbridge Wal-Mart store manager.
Adds Mayor Pelzman, “We are always glad when an employer takes an avid interest in helping the community. These are grass-roots civic groups that positively impact thousands of people a year. Wal-Mart’s recognition of their service role is fitting and timely.”
Wal-Mart Foundation has several grant-giving cycles throughout the year. For information call Community Coordinator Carole Wiegand at 732-826-4652.
