Mayor Cites Need to Support Returning Troops, Guard Members
Military personnel returning to civilian life face a myriad of re-adjustment challenges, not the least of which is getting accurate and up-to-date information on the health and economic benefits their service has earned.
On Oct. 8 the Woodbridge Township Health and Human Services Department’s Division On Aging will sponsor a free Veterans’ Information and Resource Fair for Woodbridge veterans and their families.
Veterans Administration representatives and local service providers will be on hand to provide information and answer questions regarding the full range of benefits and services for veterans of all ages and all periods of service. The fair will be held from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza.
“Woodbridge Township has a large veteran population spanning a wide age spectrum,” says Mayor Frank G. Pelzman. “This event is designed to reach veterans directly with current information about what benefits exist and how they can access those benefits for themselves and their families.”
Registration by Oct. 4 is required. To register or to obtain more information, call 732-855-0600 ext. 5023.
