Outdoor Concerts at Woodbridge High School Set for Monday’s in July & August…
Concert-Goers Urged to Bring Food Donations to Support Township Food Banks…
Mayor John E. McCormac today
announced the all-star lineup for the 2007 Mayor’s
Summer Concert Series at a Town Hall press availability.
The Summer Concert headliners will take the stage every
Monday night in July and August at 7:30 p.m. in the
field behind Woodbridge High School. Additionally,
finalists from the 2007 Woodbridge Idol contest will
perform prior to the main acts. The Mayor’s Summer
Concert Series and entertainment program is free.
“The summer concerts are always a big hit and well-attended,” said Mayor McCormac. “This year, we have a great line-up of top name entertainment and, as a warm-up to each act, finalists from the Woodbridge Idol competition will showcase their talent with individual performances. So, bring a blanket and lawn chairs, get comfortable and enjoy an evening of great music under the stars.”
Municipal Councilman Jim Carroll noted that the 2007
Mayor’s Summer Concert Series is sponsored by
Sansone’s Route 1 Auto Mall, ShopRite and The
Woodbridge Center . Concert-goers are encouraged to
bring canned goods and non-perishable food items for
donation to Township food banks. The opening night
of the 2006 Summer Concert series resulted in the
donation of a record-setting 4,500 pounds of food.
Joining the Mayor to announce the summer concert
series were Paul Sansone, owner of Sansone Route 1
Auto Mall, William Caufield and Marianne Rego of the
Woodbridge ShopRite, Amy Bellisano and Karen
Brenner, of the Woodbridge Center and members of the
Mayor’s Summer Concert Committee and
Department of Recreation. Woodbridge Idol finalist
Jared Freeman kicked-off the announcement with a
performance of “Fly Me To The Moon.”
