Mayor McCormac to Announce Woodbridge Selected as Venue for Upcoming
New Jersey Senior Olympics

Health & Fitness as Senior Athletes from Across the State Get Set
To Compete in 15 Challenging Sporting Events on Sept. 7, 8 & 9

 

WHAT: Mayor John E. McCormac will announce that Woodbridge Township will serve as host for the 2007 New Jersey Senior Olympics on Sept. 7, 8 and 9 and will detail the upcoming statewide competition. The Mayor, along with representatives from the New Jersey Senior Olympic Committee, will announce the competition at the monthly meeting of the Woodbridge Township Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons in Avenel.

 

The New Jersey Senior Olympics features 15 sporting events where senior athletes 50 years of age and up compete for the Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Senior Olympic Games and competition will take place at sporting venues throughout Woodbridge Township, including the YMCA at the Community Center, The Club at Woodbridge, and the athletic fields at Woodbridge High School. The senior competition is part of the “Mayor’s Wellness Campaign” which encourages Township residents – regardless of age – to engage in a healthy and fit lifestyle. The New Jersey Senior Olympics is part of the National Senior Games Association.
