Groundbreaking for the new Woodbridge Township skateboard park will occur this Friday at 11:30 a.m., Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.

“This is a project initiated by resident requests and the desire to expand the Township’s recreational facilities for young people,” says Mayor Pelzman.

1 st Ward Councilman Charles Kenny spearheaded the funding effort which resulted in the Township receiving two $250,000 grants: one from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Acres program, the second from Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

The 14,000-square-foot park will include a concrete bowl and various ramps, rails and ledges of various heights and sizes.
