Avenel Pharmacy and Abbe Lumber are the sponsors of two new signs for School 4/5 in Avenel, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.

The signs will be officially unveiledWednesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at School #4/5 located at 230 Avenel Street in Avenel.

Both signs were hand-carved from solid mahogany by local artisan Peter Catelli and feature 23-carat gold leaf lettering along with imaginative graphics incorporating the school’s tiger mascot.

Mr. Catelli’s unique sign work has been posted in 49 states and 5 countries, including 52 towns in New Jersey. Mr. Catelli has created over a hundred signs for Woodbridge Township schools, houses of worship and youth athletic facilities.

“We applaud local business owners helping foster a sense of community pride,” says Mayor Pelzman, who attended School 4 as a child. “Having an artist of Peter Catelli’s stature lend his craftsmanship to our public space is an added bonus.”
