Woodbridge Issues Rabies Advisory

Groundhog found in Iselin tested positive for rabies

Woodbridge Township Health Department has issued a rabies advisory, effective immediately, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced .

“A positive case of rabies was found in a groundhog caught June 13, 2005, in the vicinity of Winding Road, Iselin,” says Mayor Pelzman. “On the advice of our Health Department, we are issuing the following set of recommendations to prevent the spread of the disease among humans and domestic animals.”

If you believe you may have come in close contact with the groundhog please call the Health Department immediately at 732-855-0600 ext. 5027.

 

 

 

4) Make sure your pets are current with their rabies vaccine. If they are not current, please take them to your veterinarian immediately for a rabies vaccine.
