Woodbridge Police Receive Federal Block Grant

Mayor Cites Ongoing Need for Training, Equipment Upgrades

WOODBRIDGE – The Woodbridge Township Police Department has received a $26,599 block grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.

The funds are awarded by the Department's Bureau of Justice Assistance, a division that provides assistance in support of local law enforcement agencies. Block grant funds can be used for a variety of discretionary expenses encompassing a wide spectrum of equipment and training.

“It is essential that our police officers have proper equipment to perform their mission of protecting the public,” says Mayor Pelzman. “We are very pleased with this grant, because each penny will be used in the ongoing effort to preserve lives of dedicated public servants who put their lives on the line each day.”
