Mayor Frank G. Pelzman and Middlesex County Freeholder Director David B. Crabiel will preside June 5 at 2:30 p.m over a ground breaking ceremony for the new $1.2 million police pistol range facility in Keasbey.
The facility is the result of an inter-local agreement between Middlesex County, Woodbridge Township and the Woodbridge Police Pistol and Rifle Association.
“ Woodbridge is pleased to host this important public safety facility,” says Mayor Pelzman. “It is vital that our law enforcement officers receive the best possible training in the critical realm of marksmanship. This agreement with the County could not have come at a better time, particularly when we consider the additional training needs introduced by our region’s ongoing homeland security challenges.”
Three ranges will be built. The County will manage two 50-yard ranges, and the Woodbridge Police Pistol and Rifle Association will manage a 100-yard range. The two 50-yard ranges will be open to all law enforcement entities in Middlesex County.
