During the next few weeks Interim Mayor Joseph F. Vitale will introduce several proposals as part of a broad reform agenda for Woodbridge Township designed to increase government accountability and encourage citizen participation.

The conference will take place Tuesday, August 15 at 1 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers at Town Hall, 1 Main Street, Woodbridge, New Jersey.

“ Our purpose is to ensure that citizens have a clean, efficient government at all levels,” says Mayor Vitale.

As State Senator for the 19 th District, Vitale has sponsored several bills regulating political contributions, most notably Senate bill 1987 that would permit municipalities to enact their own pay-to-play bans and Senate bill 286 that would prohibit lobbyists and legislative agents from providing benefits to certain public officers and employees.

The Woodbridge Township reform agenda includes several elements, including legislation that would highlight ethics training, introduce citizen leadership classes and set forth a new ordinance addressing the issue of redevelopment pay-to-play contributions.
