WOODBRIDGE
TO SUBMIT PLAN FOR GREEN STREET TRAFFIC CHANGE
|
March 3, 2004
The Township of Woodbridge has received a consenting resolution from Middlesex County to designate Green Street between Route 35 and Route 9 as a "light traffic street", Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced. The resolution now must get the approval of the New Jersey Department of Transportation. "This resolution has come after extensive study of ways to improve traffic flow through this part of the Township," said Mayor Pelzman. "We are hopeful that the Department of Transportation will agree with local and county officials that this change is necessary and can be put into action as quickly as possible." Councilman Charles Kenny noted that a petition by area residents was the original impetus for the proposed change. "People see this as an important safety issue, and the Township Council and Mayor's Office were quick to respond."
