Fords Library Reopens with New Carpeting
|
Nov. 23, 2005
The first of several planned renovations at Woodbridge Township libraries has been completed, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.
New carpeting was installed this week at the Fords Library branch as part of a $90,000 Statewide Livable Communities Local Library Aidgrant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
“The grant will be used to help pay for improvements at our branch libraries, including new carpets and service desks,” says Mayor Pelzman. “Approximately 200,000 people visit these locations each year. Making sure they stay in good repair is an essential part of maintaining a comfortable environment for library patrons.”
The Woodbridge Main Library building at George Frederick Plaza celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. “We are very pleased that the Department of Community Affairs is able to support our goal of providing the best possible library facilities for the Township,” says Library Director John Hurley.
Mayor Pelzman added that the Branch Libraries were all built before the Main Library. “Keeping them well-maintained is an important investment in Township property.”
