Mayor Lauds Grass-Roots Effort to Aid Community Programs

Woodbridge Fire District 1 Commissioner John C. Kenny has received a Dollars for Doers grant from PSEG, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.

The $250 award goes directly to Kenny’s designated non-profit beneficiary, Rebuilding Together with Christmas in April , a national home rehabilitation program coordinated locally by the Woodbridge Housing Authority. Each year, Kenny captains a volunteer team that refurbishes a house selected by the program.

“John Kenny exemplifies the volunteer spirit that shows Woodbridge is a caring community,” says Mayor Pelzman. “We appreciate his extra efforts to assist a worthy program.”

“Dollars for Doers is a great way to help non-profits throughout New Jersey,” says Kenny. “I am pleased and proud that PSEG lends its support to the organizations working hard to make a difference in so many people’s lives.”

The Dollars for Doers grants are given to PSEG employees whose volunteer activities have attained special recognition. “They are role models of what it means to help make things work for the communities we serve,” says Maria Pinho, PSEG Director of Corporate Responsibility.
