Beauty Pageant Title Fuels Fundraising Mission

October 5, 2005

“Mrs. Woodbridge Township America” uses celebrity appeal for civic benefit

The new Mrs. Woodbridge Township America has a simple motto: Have pageant title, will fundraise for worthy causes.

Hopelawn resident Jenny Rosetti is a veteran fundraiser for community projects. In 2004 she peddled the grueling 560-mile Empire State AIDS Bicycle Ride, raising $10,000 for pediatric AIDS research. This year the 42-year-old mother of two returned for a second go at the 170-mile MS Society Bike Tour from Sandy Hook to Cape May that raises funds for multiple sclerosis treatment.

With her ascension to the title of Mrs. Woodbridge Township America, Ms. Rosetti believes she has discovered an additional avenue to engage public interest in charitable endeavors. “A competitive title at any level draws people to the cause you represent,” she says. “Besides the cycling events, this provides a way to get people to listen and become involved, and I am very grateful to the Mrs. New Jersey America and Mrs. America organizations for this opportunity.”

Woodbridge Mayor Frank G. Pelzman concurs. “It is a great thing to see an individual take on this extraordinary effort to help others,” he says “We wish Jenny every success in raising funds through her bike tours and pageant appearances and hope other Township residents will support her as our standard-bearer in these causes.”

Ms. Rosetti is available to make public appearances on behalf of charitable causes. Contact her by email at mrswdbgtspam05@aol.com.
