Healthy Choice Clinics, Screenings & Seminars Announced by Woodbridge Health Department…

PAP Clinic Scheduled for Thurs., March 15… “Healthy Choices” Nutrition Program Slated for March 21… Adult & Child Health Screenings & Clinics

Scheduled Each Month…

 

As part of the Woodbridge Township Department of Health and Human Services “Healthy Choice” program, Mayor John E. McCormac and Council President Brenda Yori Velasco today announced that the Township Health Center will sponsor an afternoon PAP clinic Thurs., March 15, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

 

Mayor McCormac and Council President Velasco said that all women should have an annual PAP test which screens for cervical cancer – a form of cancer that can be successfully treated and cured if detected early. Health Center nurses will be conducting PAP screens on Thursday at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza. For more information or to schedule a PAP screening, contact the Health Center at 732-855-0600 x5012. The tests are $15 for Woodbridge Township residents.

 

On Wed., March 21, the Health Center will conduct a “Healthy Choices” Nutrition Program informational lecture as Jackie Gomes, a Registered Dietician, explains the “New Food Guide Pyramid.” The “New Food Guide Pyramid” seminar, scheduled for Wed., March 21 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza, is free to Township residents. The “Healthy Choices” Nutrition Program is sponsored by the Woodbridge Department of Health & Human Services and Pathmark Supermarkets.

 

Mayor McCormac noted that the Department of Health & Human Services sponsors various adult and child health screenings, clinics, and informational seminars – Prevent Today for a Healthy Tomorrow -- on a scheduled basis.
