Mayor cites need for immediate conservation measures to combat rising gas costs
Woodbridge Township has initiated a plan for maximizing the fuel efficiency of its municipal vehicles, announced Mayor Frank G. Pelzman.
“With the steady rise in retail gas prices, it is important we immediately begin to employ all possible conservation measures for our Township vehicles,” says Mayor Pelzman.
These include making sure vehicles are not left running when parked, combining trips wherever possible and refraining from any unnecessary travel.
“We are also determining which Township vehicles assigned on a 24-hour basis are the most fuel-efficient vehicles with the highest miles-per-gallon rating,” says Mayor Pelzman. “Taken together, we believe these measures will result in savings while allowing us to deliver the same level of services residents have come to expect.”
