Green Hired to Replace Retiring Director;
Has Experience in Environmental Health, Animal Control, Occupational Health
Dennis Green has been appointed Director of the Woodbridge Township Health Department, effective July 1, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.
Green, 43, is an 18-year employee with the department and currently serves as Senior Health Inspector. He replaces Patrick Hanson, retiring after 12 years of service in the Director position.
"We believe Dennis will lead the department as effectively as Patrick Hanson has done these last 12 years," said Mayor Frank G. Pelzman. "Dennis possesses a broad range of public health knowledge and has a strong familiarity with every aspect of the department. He has also introduced administrative innovations resulting in greater cost-savings and operational efficiency."
Green has supervised the department's Animal Control Division since January, 2003. He has a law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and a Master's Degree in Environmental Studies from Montclair State University.
The Woodbridge Health Department has 31 full-time employees comprising several public health areas including environment, animal control, welfare, nursing, aging, drug-and-tobacco compliance and health education.
