Oct. 20, 2006

The Woodbridge Township Police Department has promoted Sergeant Dennis DeAngelo to the rank of lieutenant, Interim Mayor Joseph F. Vitale and Police Chief William Trenery have announced.

The promotion ceremony took place Oct. 20 at Town Hall.

“This officer and his distinguished service career is an example of why this is the finest police department in the state,” said Mayor Vitale. “In assuming his new responsibilities, he will extend the proud tradition of the Woodbridge Police Department and make our fully accredited department even stronger.”

Lt. DeAngelo, 53, is a 20-year WPD veteran who currently serves as Administrative Sergeant to the Communications and Data Processing Division.

“Lt. DeAngelo has served in what has become one of the most critical areas of law enforcement,” says Chief Trenery. “His depth of training and range of experience will continue to be a great asset to the department.”
