WHAT: Woodbridge Kicks Off Crossroads to Health Initiative April 9

WHEN: Sat. April 9, 9:30 a.m.

WHERE: Town Hall, 1 Main Street, Woodbridge

Woodbridge Township will conclude National Public Health Week with a “Walk Down Main Street” Saturday, April 9, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.

Co-sponsored by the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Walk Down Main Street is the opening event of the Township’s “Crossroads to Health Initiative”, an innovative outreach program officials hope will engage residents in a variety of health education efforts throughout the year.

The walk starts at Town Hall, 1 Main Street, and will proceed through downtown Woodbridge for a little over a mile. VNACJ’s Woodbridge Regional Office at 91 Main Street will serve as a rest and water stop. An agency nurse and a rehab therapist will lead stretching exercises before and after the walk.

“We are enthusiastic about the opportunities our collaboration with the VNACJ will bring,” says Mayor Pelzman. “The VNACJ has a strong presence in Woodbridge and will definitely augment our services to the community.”

Dennis M. Green, Director of Woodbridge Township Health and Human Services, agrees. “Having an established non-profit healthcare agency partnering with our Township health department will aid Woodbridge residents in many areas, from health education to delivery of services.”
