Woodbridge Library Receives
State Grant for Renovations

WOODBRIDGE – Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced that the Township of Woodbridge has received a $75,000 Statewide Livable Communities Local Library Aid grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

“The grant will be used to help pay for re-carpeting the second-floor lobby of the Main Library,” said Mayor Pelzman. “Approximately 600,000 people walk through that lobby each year. Keeping it in good repair is an essential part of maintaining a comfortable environment for library patrons.”

The Woodbridge Main Library building at George Frederick Plaza is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, said John Hurley, Library Director. “From the day this building opened its doors, it has enjoyed constant use by Woodbridge residents. We are very pleased that the Department of Community Affairs is able to support our goal of providing the best possible library facility for the Township.”

Other Main Library improvements include lighting, air conditioning and ceiling renovations, said Hurley. A re-carpeting of the Fords Branch Library is on the docket for later in the year.
