Mayor Praises Investigators for "Quick Response, Diligent Policework"

Woodbridge Township Police have arrested five suspects in connection with last weekend's bleach-bomb assaults in the Iselin and Colonia sections of the township.

The suspects were charged with manufacturing, possession and detonation of explosive devices. Additional pending charges include arson, aggravated assault, criminal mischief and terrorism.

Four of the suspects are juveniles, ages 15-17, all residents of Iselin. The fifth suspect is Robert Wynne, age 18, of Colonia, who posted $15,000 bail and was released. The juveniles were remanded to Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.

"We want to commend our Criminal Investigation Division for a quick response and diligent policework," said Mayor Frank G. Pelzman. "A lot of people throughout the area will feel more at ease now that the perpetrators of these attacks have been identified and apprehended."

Information leading to the arrests was developed by Lt. Thomas "Skip" Garley, a member of the police department's Community Affairs Bureau. The suspects are linked to 10 Woodbridge Township arson incidents from May 16-June 1, 2004.
