The Barron Arts Center presents its third Jersey Jams concert June 2 with hometown favorites Runaway Orange, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.
Runaway Orange of Sewarenwill perform at 8 p.m., June 2, at the Barron Arts Center, 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge. The concert is free but reservations are required. Call (732) 634-0413 for reservations.
Runaway Orange is an energetic four-piece Rock/Pop/Alternative band fronted by twin brothers Denis (vocals/guitar) and Joe Lipari (drums) and longtime music-writing friends Nathan Izzi (vocals/bass) and Ed Solomon (lead guitar).
The band’s debut album The Cutting Room (No Milk Records) scored excellent reviews that earned Runaway Orange an enthusiastic national following in support of their musical mission to “redefine your life one song at a time”.
Jersey Jams: A Fresh Harvest from Garden State Musicians and Poets is a concert series funded by the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission through a grant provided by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts
“ New Jersey has long been a source of musical innovation,” says Mayor Pelzman. “Today’s Garden State performers are producing an exciting mix of traditional and contemporary genres.”
Barron Arts CenterExecutive Director Cynthia Knight says the series is intended to acquaint Woodbridge audiences with some of the artistic gems in their own backyard. “People will be astonished by the outstanding talent in this area,” she says. “We hope Jersey Jams will be the start of several showcase events highlighting our emerging local artists.”
The series is sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission chaired by Dr. Dolores Capraro Gioffre with support from the Woodbridge Township Arts Council and Mayor Frank G. Pelzman. For information on dates and performers call the Barron Arts Center at (732) 634-0413.
