St. George Avenue Commerce Bank Robbed on Jan. 10… Woodbridge Police Seek to Identify Suspects… Contact Woodbridge P.D. at 732-634-7700

Woodbridge (Jan. 11) — The Woodbridge Township Police Department today released surveillance photographs of a suspect wanted in the mid-afternoon robbery of a Woodbridge Commerce Bank on Wed., Jan. 10. Woodbridge Police Department detectives are requesting anyone with information that might aid in identifying the suspect to contact the Detective Squad at 732-634-7700.

According to the Woodbridge Police Department, the Commerce Bank located at 900 St. George Avenue, Woodbridge, Middlesex County, was robbed on Wed., Jan 10, 2007, at approximately 2:15 p.m. The preliminary investigation determined that the suspect entered the bank, waited in line for an available teller, approached the counter, and handed a crumbled dark plastic bag and demand note to the teller. After waiting for the teller to read the note, the suspect advised the teller to not activate the alarm and to fill the bag with money. Moments later, the suspect grabbed the bag and walked out of the bank. Detectives determined that the while the suspect did not display a weapon, the demand note indicated that the suspect had a “gun.” Further investigation developed information that the suspect fled the scene in a blue, 4-door, compact passenger vehicle driven by a black female.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, 6’3” in height, medium build, and wearing glasses. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, dark pants and sneakers.

Anyone with information that might aid in identifying the suspect is encouraged to contact the Woodbridge Police Department at 732-634-7700, Det. Dean Janowski at 732-602-7369 or DSGT Joseph Nisky at 732-602-7311. All information will remain confidential.
