Woodbridge Appoints 13 New Police Officers

► Inductees Include 2 Women, 5 Military Veterans

WOODBRIDGE – Thirteen officers will be added to the Woodbridge Township Police Department, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman and Police Chief William Trenery have announced.

The officers will be sworn in Wednesday, May 18 at 2:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

“I welcome these men and women to the finest police department in the state,” says Mayor Pelzman. “They will make our fully accredited department even stronger and become part of the proud tradition of the Woodbridge Police Department.”

The new officers are:

-- Joseph Anthony Angelo, 20, Menlo Park Terrace

-- Michael John Barbato, Jr., 29, Port Reading

-- Kevin Charles Hawley, 28, Menlo Park Terrace

-- Michael Anthony Holobinko, 28, Colonia

-- John Joseph Pegos, 22, Iselin

-- Mitchell Wade Platt, 32, Fords

-- Aimee S. Rusak, 28, Fords

-- Charles Martin Stab, 32, Avenel

-- Benjamin Haynes Stevenson, 27, Colonia

-- Gregory Jerry Strzepek, 22, Iselin

-- Stephanie Lee Strzykalski, 24, Avenel

-- Jason Paul Szylar, 29, Keasbey

-- Carlos Marcelo Villegas, 32, Avenel

The new officers bring the department total to 203. “These new officers are replacing retirees,” says Chief Trenery. “And we will be adding to our department’s work force during the rest of this year.”
