Woodbridge Township Mayor John E. McCormac and Council President Patricia Osborne today announced that flu vaccine remains available to Woodbridge Township residents. The flu vaccine is administered through the Woodbridge Health & Human Services Department.

To better accommodate Township residents, flu shots will now be available at Town Hall, 1 Main Street, on Tues., Dec. 12 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Additionally, the Woodbridge Health Center, located at 2 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge, is open from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. every Monday for walk-in patients. Residents can also schedule a weekday appointment (9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.) by calling (732) 855-0600 x5011. Flu shots are free to Medicaid patients and $15.00 for all other patients.

Adults over the age of 50, health care providers, caretakers for high-risk patients, residents of nursing homes and other institutions housing long-term care patients, women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during flu season, and individuals with chronic heart and lung problems, diabetes, and conditions that lower body resistance should receive annual flu shots.

“Flu shots are the first line of defense against a very serious illness,” Council President Osborne said. “We are endeavoring to make it as easy as possible for everyone to get a flu shot. By extending the hours and opening Town Hall next Tuesday, we’re hopeful that more residents will take a few minutes to get the vaccine.”
