Woodbridge Court Receives Computer Upgrade

Mar. 7, 2006

Mayor cites importance of access, speed of information flow

WOODBRIDGE – Woodbridge Township has completed an upgrade of its Municipal Court computer system, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman has announced.

The new ATS/ACS system is PC-based and replaces the court’s older terminal network. ATS/ACS allows for faster and more direct information flow among local and state judicial agencies. It permits court personnel to perform all case management functions from initial entry, case histories and status updating to collections, monetary disbursement and case dispositions.

“Modern judiciary work requires an increasingly sophisticated set of technological tools,” says Mayor Pelzman . “We are always seeking to provide our departments with the best available equipment and training. The increased efficiency of the new system benefits our residents in the short and long run.”

Funding for the upgrade comes from court revenues the Township pays to the state. Woodbridge is the second-busiest court in New Jersey.

“Every one of our court employees now has access to the state judiciary web site and can locate anyone in the New Jersey judiciary system,” says Woodbridge Township Municipal Court Director Linda Galasso . “The new system is a powerful research tool helping us keep up-to-date about new court procedures that make going to court less time-consuming for all concerned.”
