Woodbridge will hold an Interfaith Memorial Service to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Mayor Frank G. Pelzman announced.
The service will be held Sunday, September 11 at 9 a.m. at the 9/11 Monument at Town Hall, 1 Main Street, Woodbridge.
Rev. Neva Lawson, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Woodbridge, will officiate. Rev. Lawson is founder of Accent Community Development Corporation and founding board member of the Woodbridge Interfaith Hospitality Network.
“This service will serve as our way of honoring those who tragically lost their lives during these attacks while also remembering the strength and resolve of our community in the days following September 11, ” says Mayor Pelzman. “We invite anyone interested in sharing a time of reflection and prayer to join us.”
Woodbridge Township lost nine people in the September 11 attacks. In 2002 the Township 9/11 Memorial Committee constructed a permanent memorial in front of Town Hall to honor their memory.
