The Redevelopment Agency of the Township of Woodbridge is responsible for
undertaking preliminary investigations to determine if various properties
throughout the Township are suitable for redevelopment. Once all available data
has been reviewed, the Redevelopment Agency may forward to the Municipal Council a
recommendation that a specific area should or should not be considered "an Area
in Need of Redevelopment" After an area is so designated, the Redevelopment
Agency is responsible for facilitating such redevelopment.
The Redevelopment Agency meets once a month: normally on the first Tuesday
of the month.
The Redevelopment Agency has seven members. Two of the members are Municipal
Council members who are appointed by the governing body. His/Her term of office
is one year unless he/she completes their term as a council member. No more than
two members can be officers or employees of the township.
The rest of the Redevelopment Agency is comprised of citizens of the township who are appointed by
the Mayor and confirmed by the Municipal Council. Their (staggered) terms of office is five years.
